I was fortunate the other evening to give a brief presentation to the City Commission where I live. I spoke about positiveness and mindset. Although it was very brief, several times in the discussions that followed people said “Remember what Dr. Carson said? Let’s keep this positive.”
Every where you go, people most often speak in the negative. I hope that you are one of the messengers who is there helping to convince people to think in the positive. Also think about how many times you might be saying to yourself, “I can’t believe that just happened to me” or “Why did this happen now?” or How could he have said something like that to me?”
Rather than go right to the negative, how about saying “O.K. what lesson did that teach me” or “How can I learn from this?” It is so easy to get dragged into everyone else’s mess. You have a hard enough time solving all your own problems, you certainly don’t need to take on anyone else’s.
I encourage you to be the shining light in your environment. Be the one people look to for happiness and joy. Bring the sunshine into their lives and the desire to be a better person. You can do it I know, or you wouldn’t be reading this right now.
I hereby appoint you the ambassador of sunshine!
