Yesterday would have been my 53rd wedding anniversary and strangely, my husband’s best friend passed away recently, and his wife and I met for lunch yesterday. It was so apropos. We laughed, reminisced and recalled old tales.
And then Saturday evening I had dinner with a couple who also got married in November. We had always gotten together each year to celebrate and I still do. It is so important to keep those memories going and the friendships that go along with them.
As long as you don’t let the past recollections overwhelm you, they are crucial. Sometimes we get so busy that we don’t have time for old friendships, or past memories that give us a warm, fuzzy feeling. Yet, you can’t live in the past and must always be looking towards the future.
I treasure my memories and I am also enjoying the new ones I’m making. I want to encourage you to live each day to the fullest, spread the joy and goodwill that I know you are capable of.
