Responding to Darkness with Light
For all my positiveness, I have to recognize the horror of yesterday’s events in Orlando. Some people are so unhappy, so biased, so low in self-esteem, that they create these acts of utter devastation. And of course, I ask, “To what end?”
That’s why I believe that those of you who are making this world a better one, who impact people with your good deeds, who take on almost impossible tasks to unite communities and who volunteer for organizations who value your gifts and skills–are all heroes. We bless you.
I hope that all of you make a special effort today to call a loved one and tell them what they mean to you. No one knows how much time we have, and there isn’t any left over to hold a grudge. Put bad thoughts behind you and reach out to someone you haven’t spoken to in a while because of a misunderstanding.
You are the ones who will carry the positive thoughts and feelings to your family, friends, community and those who are timidly living in darkness. Spread the word of what we can accomplish together and that all of us working together can accomplish miracles.
